Fetal Health Surveillance

In addition to education provided locally in hospitals and zones, Fetal Health Surveillance Education in Alberta is also provided through existing on-line education programs. Fetal Health Surveillance information is found in the MOREOB Program chapter on Fetal Well-being During Labour and in the Alberta Perinatal Professionals Electronic Library module on Intrapartum Fetal Assessment.

The Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance: A Self Learning Manual was developed by the Canadian Perinatal Programs across Canada. The current hard copy edition was produced in 2009. It can be ordered from Perinatal Services BC through the following link.

Since 2014, The Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance: A Self-Learning Module is available in an enhanced online format, and participants have the opportunity to use auditory, visual, and kinesthetic tools to enhance their learning. The online manual has been endorsed by the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecologist of Canada and Canadian Association of Perinatal and Women's Health Nurses.
